I want a netbook. But I have biding my time as the current gen seems a little underpowered. I want to be able to watch a decent res video on a plane flight from NY to CA (typically 5hours on the longest leg). The second gen looks like it might give me what I want and more. Dual core Atom with nVidia’s new Tegra platform is making the netbook look very attractive. Now I won’t have to lug my MacBook around worrying about it getting stolen/damaged.

Gigabyte T1028 netbook | Engadget

I have been considering a netbook for some time, but I keep holding out till they go dual core and the screen gets a little taller. I really want one for travel. A lightweight and modestly powerful computing platform that I wouldn’t be too upset if it got lost or stolen, would make travel a little less stressful. My requirements haven’t been filled yet however, Gigabyte is about to offer up a touchscreen netbook with a touchscreen that looks pretty interesting.
