Song of the day – Mushroomhead “Simple Survival”

Hello,
It’s finally friday and time for me to bring you my Song of the Day. Today I felt like something metal. I am listening to Nine Inch Nails – The Downward Spiral and several other Hardcore bands. I decided to share one with you that you may or may not already know. Today I would like to reccomend Mushroomhead’s “Simple Survival”. Mushroomed is a Cleveland Ohio based rock band whose musical stylings are similar to Slipknot, Mudvayne and others of that vein. Known for their edgy tracks, amazing onstage personas, and amazing costume and art design, Mushroomhead is more of an experience than just a band.  Mushroomhead has been around for some time now and found success in the nineties with their albums title XX (Double X) and XIII (Thirteen). They haven’t recieved the sales or notarity of those albums though their music is just as good now if not better, their live shows are a lot of fun, and they have a lot of credibility in the Hard Rock underground.

The track Simple Survival is off of their most recent album Savior Sorrow, it’s a good represenation of the direction the band is heading toward rather than where they have been. The song  starts out at a decent pace and builds energy but not speed. If you like this track I highly recommend you listen to some more. It’s easy to spend several hours playing their albums without realizing you have… it’s just that good.
