Posted June 30, 2009 – in: Blog, Cell Phone, Technology, Web, Windows, netbooksYAY! Finally, 3D on a phone from a company that is good at 3D! Though I think there will be more interest in Tegra netbooks but I am excited to see what’s coming.

Posted June 4, 2009 – in: Blog, Technology, Web, Windows, netbooksI want a netbook. But I have biding my time as the current gen seems a little underpowered. I want to be able to watch a decent res video on a plane flight from NY to CA (typically 5hours on the longest leg). The second gen looks like it might give me what I want and more. Dual core Atom with nVidia’s new Tegra platform is making the netbook look very attractive. Now I won’t have to lug my MacBook around worrying about it getting stolen/damaged.

Posted April 23, 2009 – in: Blog, Linux, Technology, netbooksSure, you can’t pronounce Ubuntu, but the latest release is ready for download anyway. Ubuntu 9.04, aka Jaunty Jackalope, comes with the promise of faster boots, better power management, immediate system access after hibernation, a new system-wide notification service, and broader device support for intelligent switching between WiFi and 3G networks. 9.04 is available in desktop, server, and netbook builds. Right, netbooks, Linux distros run just fine on netbooks regardless of what Microsoft and analysts have to say.

Posted April 11, 2009 – in: Blog, netbooksI have been considering a netbook for some time, but I keep holding out till they go dual core and the screen gets a little taller. I really want one for travel. A lightweight and modestly powerful computing platform that I wouldn’t be too upset if it got lost or stolen, would make travel a little less stressful. My requirements haven’t been filled yet however, Gigabyte is about to offer up a touchscreen netbook with a touchscreen that looks pretty interesting.
